Birth Family Services

The Pathways program for birth mothers provides critical assistance in helping women identify a comprehensive adoption parenting plan, then delivers consistent support to help them chart a plan and navigate a successful course for:

Emotional well-being—eight hours of professional counseling is provided to each Pathways participant.

Educational success—carefully tailored program developed in conjunction with local educators and colleges are designed to help Pathways participants complete high school and obtain an associates degree or higher.

Professional development– Pathways participants are partnered with professionals who help them with resume development and job interviews.

Program Goals and Objectives
1. Provide important information about parenting alternatives.
More than 7.5 million Americans are unable to have children and more than 120,000 families inquire about adoption each year. Adoptive homes are carefully screened and trained to ensure that they can provide for the financial, safety and wellbeing needs of adopted children. In addition, “Open Adoption” plans can allow birth parents to receive information about children as they grow up into happy and healthy individuals.

2. Break generational cycles of unplanned pregnancy and poverty.
Armed with an education, preparation for a successful career and the confidence of knowing they’ve made a loving parenting plan for their children, Pathways participants become more productive and effective members of their communities.

3. Teach life skills for emotional recovery, educational success and professional development.
Pathways participants “graduate” knowing more about themselves, their strengths and their opportunities to succeed.
